Use main light or coloured L.E.D. for night time.

Give plenty of light all round and switch to led for night use. Caution ⚠️. If using L.E.D screw in bulbs do NOT over tighten when inserting bulb as it may crush the bayonet end of bulb resulting in short circuit and destruction of unit circuitry rendering light useless.

No good without remote

I bought this light few months ago however I misplaced the remote I contacted b&q they couldn't order me a replacement remote without it the light is useless You would expect spares availability for b&q branded colours however that's not the case

Dangerous and not compliant, illegal for sale

We bought this light from a local B&Q, to find that it claims to be double insulated. However, upon inspection it is not, and has no earth terminal, this in the event of a single fault the light will become live and therefore potentially lethal. Whatever you do, do not buy this fitting it is dangerous

Nice item once in place, but awkward to assemble.

I bought this unit yesterday. It took me a while to review the instructions, - you know, those terrible pictograms which don't give much detail. The cardboard box is relatively small, so 4 of the 6 arms have to be swung out to your desired position. There is no mention of a hex key being needed, (its 1.5mm by the way) to loosen the arms so you can swivel them into position. You need to loosen them a bit; otherwise you grasp the centre housing of the lamp, with its very thin chromed steel construction, in order to get leverage. Yep, its sharper than a razor and you get a really neat cut across your fingers or palm. Superglue is ideal for repairing this type of cut! It is easier to get the light unit secured to the ceiling, and then move the arms into the desired position. Wiring up is quite easy, although there is limited space within the centre housing. A nice terminal box is provided, just pull back some of the heat proof cable shroud so you ensure you connect live with live, neutral with neutral. I'm not an electrician, so I was quite surprised that there is not an earth termination. Metal structure, 240 volt input. Is this correct?? I have installed a separate earth connection. Take time offering the unit up to the mounting bracket, there is a jumble of cable in the centre housing and you don't want to trap anything. Once the light unit is secured to the ceiling, you can move the 4 arms out into the desired position; if needed tighten them using the hex key. Hey presto, it works! There is a neat remote control which this Luddite easily figured out, but there are simple instructions provided. I've fitted 5w LED mini globe lamps and they give a superb light. We like to read in bed and this unit and bulb combination works a treat. The colour changing leds are a bit of a novely, but they can be switched off with the remote. Its a good unit, provides a superb illumination, but its let down by poor assembly instructions, and very sharp edges.
