Disappointing Product

The bath is fine however if you want a bath end panel that matches the front bath panel do not purchase this item. After 6 end panel exchanges I am now having to purchase one to match from another supplier. The one B&Q are now telling me fits needs to be cut down as it's too long and packed out and would just look like a bodged job. The B&Q complaints system also leaves much to be desired - they fail to take ownership of any problems. Very disappointing overall.

Begging for assembly instructions with words !!!

I purchased this product 2 months ago as a package with the mdf side and end panel, and the show screen. Firstly the assembly/installation instructions are dire, so if you are intending a DIY installation take care. The bath come parts that are not even required if you use the mdf panels, and the Adelphi panel is not the correct size for the Adelphi bath - both end and side are likely to need cutting down to fit. The instructions have no words - just expanded pictures - and they don't make the assembly obvious at all. I have completed it now, and it looks OK, but it has been the most challenging DIY project that I have undertaken for a while purely because of those instructions!!!

Restricted tap position

Only buy this bath if it is to be fitted at 2 walls only, or if the taps are mounted on the wall. You can only fit taps onto the bath on the back edge, as the ends are sloping and curved. For a 2-wall fitting, if access to the tap fixing is required after the bath is fitted, they must be positioned closer to the non-shower end. This is not ideal, as this end will probably be the head end when lying down and they may be intrusive. I thought the bath support system supplied was inadequate and would leave the rear side unsupported and too flexible, so I used wall battens for extra support and stability. The rim was trimmed off leaving it too deep, and proud of the wood support pieces. To properly mount the bath onto wall battens I had to add packing pieces to the wood supports so that the bath was not just sitting on the plastic rim. This overrun also causes problems with the fitting of the bath panels. The front support legs are adjusted by screwing the threaded bar in or out of the metal tube, but no means of gripping this threaded section is provided. The hole for the overflow is about the same size as the drain hole and is therefore too big for a standard 40mm overflow fitting. It is also set much higher on the bath than expected, with the overflow level at about 3 inches below the rim. Thick cardboard tubes were left glued to the underside of the rim. No explanation is given as to why they are there, or what to do with them. I had to remove the front ones (very gently) as they were interfering with the fitting of the front panel. Only 10 panel clips were provided when 12 are required for front and end panels. On the plus side, the waste and overflow positions make it easier to fit them after final mounting of the bath.

The Plastic One...

Yes, I went for the plastic & not enamel version, as opposed to the other reviewer & I’m very happy with the tub. Why plastic? Why not? It’s replacing an old plastic tub and didn’t need two to carry it - enamel would have been so much heavier for no real benefit. Bath sits well, doesn’t creak & flex even though I’m a good 6foot tall... Only criticism is against the website, finding an end panel is next to near impossible!

Very pleased with the quality of this item.

Recently bought this and had it installed. Very pleased with the quality and price of this item. I chose to pay extra for the super cast and am very pleased that I did.

Plug hole

The plug hole was drilled off centre and so leaked, the plumber had to reset the plug mechanism, it was shoddy. Also it was not clear that you couldn't fix taps at the ends of the bath, because of the slope, they had to be on the back edge somewhere or on the wall.
