Nice colour but patchy
This is water based and very much like a stain. It drys almost instantly which causes overlapping in the brushwork. Because the colour is dark this causes patchiness to the point where parts of the deck become almost black.. The coverage is poor. I didn't have enough to complete the second coat on a 16m2 deck. The colour though is very nice and much richer than ronseal. I used the ronseal deck oil to complete the second coat and where I did the overall result was best.

3 Years on and still like new
I can't recommend this product enough after applying 3 coast to almost all my wood in the garden the rain still runs off it 3 year later and the cheap garden treated pine still looks like expensive cedar.

The best product you will ever find.
Had this stuff on nearly everything in the garden and have been asked if my cheap preasure treated pine is expensive cedar! The water beads on the surface and its looking fresh afer a year of being knocked about tools drills coffee cups. I even rang the company to ask them never to change it!

Second coat made a big difference
It does say on the tin that two coats are necessary. The second coat made a big difference. Nice finish but it was expensive to have to buy a second tin for the second coat. If ordered on line don't expect it to arrive on the same day as any other products such as decking.

Not quite what we expected
New decking 10m x 5m. It took 10 tins to provide a decent coating. We expected two coats would be required. Very patchy and runs alot. But the second coat gives a better effect but not perfect.

I really wouldn't recommend this decking protector
I really wouldn't recommend this decking protector, not only it is extortinately expensive, it's not fit for purpose. Tried tried to used in a decking spray application, which it's billed for us with and it blocked the unit within a couple of minutes. Tried 2 different sprayers and had the same issues with both. Ended up having to apply by brush. In the process of claiming my money back from Cuprinol.
