You can apply this anti slip decking stain from Cuprinol to , using a brush or roller, to colour and provide protection. It takes 2-6 hours to dry and will cover up to 8 m² per litre on average.

Nice green shade
Easy to apply and several coats gave a nice finish which is water repellant and protects decking. Have been using for 20 years and decking is sound,also gives colouring to metal gazebo brackets and posts.

Poor lasting properties.
Bought this in April 2023 and applied it to the decking a couple of weeks after it had been jet washed. Just had to have the decking jet washed again due to all the flaking product. Effectively this has lasted under a year in terms of protection. Not something I would recommend to anyone.

Does what it says on the tin!
Used click and collect service and product was available within few hours. Was able to collect, prepare decking and paint all in one day 👍

Preparation is key
I’ve applied to decking that has been down and unrelated for two years. Are duly cleaning, degreasing etc. A light sand where there were any particularly dark areas and if applied really well. It will need a another coat but the tin did the prescriber coverage expected of a first coat. Second tim will go further for sure.

This product is great for new decking only
This stain should only be used on new decking if you have any dirt or sawdust on the deck will peel off as it weathers old decking I wouldn’t apply it too ,it should say this on the tin so people are aware before buying it mine in its third year now looks fine all in the preparation

Does not do what it says on the tin
I got two tins of this paint as I knew I would need a few coats 1 tin is supposed to cover 20square meters more like it covers 10 square meters per tin on 2 coats i now need to get a 3rd tin just to finish off my 4mts decking as I still néed to paint about 1mx4m

I purchased 2x2.5Lts tins, I thought it was very expensive I take it that is Anti Slip the reason for the exspence. I purchased this because my neighbor next door had done his decking and it looked brilliant so I gone and got two tins exspensive stain to complete my decking, I hope it lasts a few years, because I can't keep putting out this type of money as I am a pensioner.

Soon peels off
I’ve a decking that doesn’t get the sun! I never installed it. It was painted with Vermont Green decking stain. In two years I’ve applied it twice. Never used the decking and it still peels off. As durable as a blueberry muffin.

Overpriced and wrongly advertised
I purchased three tins based on the pictures on here as Ultra Tough. Reality is that the tins are different and are available from £12.25 elsewhere. Have returned them and bought at a proper cost.
