Decorative Dahlia Duet 2 Flower bulbs
Product details
Product information
Dahlias are enjoying a much deserved return to popularity. They're great plants for dry and sunny spots in your garden, and as drought tolerant plants they'll cope with hot, dry weather, blooming throughout the summer. They're invaluable for beds and borders, in patio pots, or as cut flowers.
- Planting location: Beds, borders or in patio pots
- Soil moisture: Moist & well drained, Soil pH: Any
- Flowering period: July - October, Planting period: May - June
- Hardiness: H3 - Hardy in coastal & relatively mild parts of the UK (-5 to 1°C)
- Plant in a sunny spot. Dig soil improver and bonemeal into the planting hole before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole. Do not attempt to plant these bulbs if the ground is frozen or during freezing conditions. Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. Water well during dry spells. When foliage has died back, usually after the first frost, cut stems back to 5cm above soil level. Not winter hardy. To over-winter, dig up the tubers and store them in a cool, dry and frost-free place. Replant in the same way next year.
