Surprisingly good

Last lighting going to LED in the house. Replaced previous similar format halogen. LED light actually brighter and yet more mellow and 'gentler'.

bright & cheap light

much better than those first slow & gloomy mini-tubes

£12 For one bulb!!

They are energy saving but not money saving, £12 would have keep and old style bulb lit for a long time!! We would need 20 bulbs to change our house to LEDs = £240!!

Instant light

I bought this as a replacement for an 'energy saving lamp', what a difference. After too long, I ditched the old lamp and installed this LED lamp which gives immediate illumination. What a change from switching on the 'energy saver' and then going for a cup of tea while you wait for enough light output.

Great look

I bought this a month ago. It looks fantastic in the dinning room but it does not work good with dimmer switch

Beats all other energy saving bulbs hands down!

The relatively new technology of LED filament bulbs has finally managed (in my opinion) to successfully match the quality of light produced by the good old tungsten filament bulb, but using just a fraction of the energy. The colour temperature, instant on and 360 degree light distribution is almost identical due to the filament design and layout, there's no more waiting a minute or two for full brightness! The only minus points are the relatively high cost (which is bound to come down, just like CFL's have) and that not all are dimmable, I have LED filament bulbs in every lamp fitting in my flat and will never go back to the dim and nasty quality of light generated by CFL bulbs.
