Perfect for what it is.
Perfect for what it is. Reasonable price for just empty IP55 box.

Its just a box.
I believed this to be a 'Junction Box'. It has no connectors in it so its just a box. There's no way of sealing the cables so its a useless box at that.

You get what you pay for!
I have a number of these but before continuing to read the review please bear in mind that while you may not consider £7 cheap, for an outdoor rated enclosure it is! The main plus point is that they are not too deep and hence don't protrude far from the wall and hence you don't keep catching things on them. The main problem is the screws - small & brittle - ok if you are going to fit and forget (but be careful not to over-tighten). However if you may need to keep re-opening the box replace the screws with slightly wider ones of better quality, you will need to enlarge the holes in the lid slightly and increase the pilot hole size in the pillars the screws tap into to avoid them splitting. All that said; I have a number of these in exposed locations on exterior walls and some beneath decking (however most, if not all, do not have the original screws, I learned my lesson quickly on that one) and they have remained dry internally; beware that the holes you make to allow entry for cables or conduits, especially if on the top of the box are more likely to allow water to enter than the lid seal is, hence it is good practice to have a drain hole so any water that does enter can escape - they are catered for in the box moulding but need drilling through, obviously on the lower edge and large enough to allow water to escape but small enough to prevent insects entering.

Simple construction - awful screws
Like others, despite widening the screw holes with a drill, I still managed to round the head off one of the screws when screwing the fascia on. I didn't even manage to get the box to seal before the head of the screw came off and so now I have to take the box off and re-gland 4 entry points. Utter junk.

Great little junction box
Bought 7 of these last month were really useful junction boxes.

A very tough box
This is a very tough box, so strong I found it impossible to knock the knockouts out and they had to be drilled out with a hole cutter. I found this box to be cheaper at B&Q than any on the internet but if you don't have access to hole cutters you may struggle. (I am electrician with 40 years experience )

Screws for lid are very poor in every respect
2 out of the 4 screws snapped when fitting the lid, the other two will be a pain for the next person to undo - the slots are soft. Also - how can a plastic box containing nothing be rated to 30 A/240 V ? These are really cheap boxes. Unfortunately I bought 2 boxes so used the screws from the second box - anyone want a box with a loose lid ?
