This electric fire features a optimyst 3d flame effect with & without heat which instantly adds an inviting, warming glow to the room. This fire uses a thermostat which switches the heat on and off to maintain heat levels. This fire is operated manually and the function controls are located on the unit.

- Engineered with Opti-Myst technology, the flame effect is fully three dimensional and uses ultrasonic technology to create an ultra-fine water mist, which is then illuminated to create the ‘flames’ and the ‘smoke’. Combined with a realistic log effect fuel bed it creates the smart illusion of a real fire. The flames are created by filling a water tank beneath the fuel bed and it is completely safe

great heat but overly noisy
Have had this fire a while now but try not to use it as it is very noisy when heat is on, tv volume has to be turned up when fire is in use. I'm in the process of looking for another electric fire that is not so noisy!

Great fire
I bought this fire because it looks so realistic. Its not the cheapest but you do get what you pay for. You don't have to have the heat on to feel warm but when you do have it on its really good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if I had to.

Fire great but expensive to run even without heat
Had this fire 2 years its great but.....needs requires filling with distilled water every other day plus the 4 halogen 50w bulbs will cost a lot to run the flame effect only which is the only part we use.....actually cheaper to run the gas boiler

The fires great but not enough cable not everybody as a socket close enough to fire

Over three years old, and still a great fire!
We bought this fire with the remote control, probably close to 4 years ago, and still looks and works great. We have central heating, so not used ALOT, however, we do have the flame effect going in the winter for that homely feel and look during the winter. We use the heater for the occasional chilly evening during the spring and autumn, and it soon warms up our living room. Probably the best purchase we made when we done a refurb of our living room. Going by our experience, we can highly recommend this fire.

Dimplex opti-myst fire, electrical fault.
We have had the fire for a year and it suddenly started turning itself on and changing settings with no external input. Now no power even though everything has been checked. No support at all from Dimplex support centre, just an email to say they will get in touch. You cannot speak to anyone as you get cut off because it is a plug in product! Three calls logged. Very disappointed.

Not worth the money.
Bought this just over 3 yrs ago, it has cost another £100 in parts in the ksst year whildt out of guarantee. Broke down 3 times within guarantee. Dreadful product not worth the money. Extremely annoyed that this is now needing an electrician to fix
