Product details
Product information
This Pure brilliant white satinwood wood & metal paint has been specially designed to give a durable and long-lasting finish on a range of surfaces. Simply apply 1 coat with a brush or roller and leave for 16 hours to dry - a great way to give the surfaces additional protection. Covers up to 12 m² per litre on average.
- Use a clean and good-quality brush. Apply a thick even coat of paint taking care not to spread it too far. Failure to do so may require a second coat, particularly when painting over a darker colour with a lighter topcoat. Leave a minimum of 16 hours between coats
- Suitable for Metal & wood
- Not quick dry
- Remove flaking or defective paint and sand down the surface to remove any sheen. Refer to health, safety and environmental information. Make sure the surface is clean (no dirt or grease) and dry
Features and benefits
At B&Q we want you to be satisfied with your colour selection. Not all monitors will display colours the same and paint tins may not show the same colour as your walls do in natural light. We therefore recommend you order a tester pot online or pop in store to pick one up so you are sure that this is the right colour for you.
- Great coverage in just one coat, saving you time and money
- We recommend using a one coat roller for optimal application
- For best results follow the instructions on the tin carefully, a second coat may be required if overpainting a darker colour with a lighter top coat

NOT SATIN, NOT ONCE
wantedsilkguy - 3 days ago
It's gloss, not satin, and it takes more than one coat. And the house still stinks 26 hours later.
It is the very definition of does NOT do what is says on the tin.
No option for zero stars review so have to give it 1.
Horrible smell and 16 hrs to dry

I bought this to paint the built in bookcase we’ve just finished. I always assume that one coat on such paints gets a decent finish but for a good one you need two coats. The paint has very high VOC - the smell is very strong and doesn’t seem to go away, so painting anything indoors is a struggle. Thecoverage after one coat is really poor, even on pre primed boards. To get a decent finish I’ll need 3 coats. The consistency is such that the coverage is poor even though the paint is very sticky, yet it still drips. It also takes 16 hrs (!) to dry, so no way of finishing a job in a decent time. The finish is also rather gloss than satin. The price is very high for such incredibly poor performance.
Awful product

Can anyone who has used this please tell me if and how you got a nice smooth finish? I've followed the instructions and firstly, I'm having to do a second coat when the tub says guaranteed one coat!?! Secondly the finish is just an eyesore. Its uneven, you can see where the brush strokes end despite applying it 'thickly with a good quality brush' as the instructions state. Completely ruined my sills! For nearly £30 ill now have to spend twice that amount to get someone in and do the job again.
Awful paint

I usually buy the quick dry satinwood but picked up the wrong one. I thought it would be ok but how wrong could I be. If I could have given no stars i would have as its absolutely awful paint. Its consistency is more like gloss. It has a very strong smell and as one of the other reviewers says it runs. Its so bad im half way through painting spindles and have decided to let it dry (hours later) rub it down and start again!
This is gloss finish. Definitely not satin finish.

I used the Quick Dry Satinwood on my hall doors and woodwork but had to do 3 coats to get the finish I wanted. I then decided to use Once Satinwood. The paint is very runny and runs form before your eyes. You can't load your brush with paint; if you do the paint will run down your hands. I've been using Dulux Satinwood for years but the changes that they have made to the product are not good. I will now try another brand. Poor show Dulux.
