Stylish

I bought this to replace my old kitchen lights, blends in great with new kitchen, lights bright and you can position them to illuminate area needed to highlight. Love them.

Bulb changing is a complete nightmare

The points I would award these stylish lights on appearance and cost, are completely wiped out by the almost impossible task of changing the bulbs. 3 bulbs have blown within days of installation. Getting the old bulbs removed with the little suction thingy is fiddly but do-able but putting the new bulbs in is another matter entirely and seemingly beyond normal human capability. I can't even imagine contestants on the Kypton Factor managing to instal bulbs into these wretched holders. I'm writing this review having given up on the third session because after 20 minutes on a step ladder for closer access, my back and my neck are in too much pain to continue trying. So there is now only one functional bulb in the kitchen light - great! Very disappointed and cannot understand how these impractical lights ever got allowed past the design stage to put out for public sale. They should be withdrawn!

Nice looking light but bulbs supplied are poor

2 of the 3 bulbs supplied have gone after 24 hours. 2 lights purchased in total and 3 bulbs need replacing already!

Nice Light

We bought 4 of these for our breakfast kitchen and they do look nice. Being able to fully adjust where the light goes is good and they were quite easy to install with a neat look. Only thing that lets them down is being supplied with Halogen bulbs. We discarded these in favour of B&Q`s LED equivalent which give off more light at a fraction of the running cost of halogen. I wish these lamps were supplied a little cheaper without bulbs so we are not purchasing bulbs we don't want, plus LED are more eco friendly so come on B&Q take out the old hat halogen bulbs. Then it would be 5 stars.

don't touch with a barge pole!

looks great when fitted but within 3 weeks 2 bulbs had gone. trying to fit new ones has been a complete nightmare! almost impossible to fit!

Not suitable for supplied bulbs

I bought this fitting to replace an old 80 mm, 3 spotlight fitting in a bedroom. It's stylish and well made but the ventilation is inadequate for the supplied 55 Watt halogen bulbs and all 3 have now failed only a few weeks after purchase. I have tried replacement LED bulbs from B&Q but these have too narrow a beam angle leaving dark areas in the room. I have just ordered some wide beam LED bulbs from LED Hut as a last resort. It seems that there is still no adequate low energy replacement for the old R80 spots which most UK houses had fitted as standard in the last 20 years or so! Most other rooms in my house have these or 60 Watt SBC bayonet globes which are also impossible to replace with low energy equivalents.

Easy fit but nightmare for changing bulbs

Easy to fit but would recommend fitting extension wires before fitting as there is no room when its up to the ceiling. Changing the bulbs is a nightmare without the supplied suction cup and even then you need to align the bulb and fiddle a lot with it. Apart from that it looks lovely up.

nice and easy

Quick and easy to put up and looks nice. If you use the tool that comes with it changing bulbs is fine.

Difficult to change bulbs

Had this about 2 years. Bulbs do blow frequently-I have found the cheapest replacements last the longest. As mentioned by another reviewer, fiddly to change the bulbs as they sit flush with the edge of the fitting and so impossible to grip and rotate the bulb-just have to keep pushing and twisting until you get the bulb to release. Looks nice but can't really recommend: not a disaster but had enough now and looking for a replacement.
