Matter & Thread really matter
Eve products are among the best and so I was more than a bit surprised to find the door & windows sensor on sale for a great price on the B&Q site. I wanted one with Matter and Thread support for my Apple Home (Homekit) based system as this is supposed to make installation and use much easier and more reliable. I did have a problem getting it to join my smart home until I put my location into the Eve app. No idea if this was a coincidence or the solution as I don't yet have another one to install but as soon as I did that the installation worked perfectly. It has been completely reliable and I will now be buying a few more. One thing to be aware of is that for Thread to work you MUST have a working IPV6 network and not just an IPV4 network. If you don't know what this means then I recommend that you get a good IT support person involved who knows how to configure and test an IPV6 network. Otherwise you could spend a lot of time trying to get any Thread device working to no avail. Overall very happy with my purchase.
