Crocus firefly is a very popular variety with delicate pale-lilac flowers. It provides early spring colour and will attract any early-emerging bees. Ideal for planting through grass, or in borders or containers. They combine well with snowdrops and will bloom year after year

• Planting location: Borders, containers and pots
• Soil moisture: Well drained
• Flowering period: February-March, Planting period: August-December
• Dig soil improver and bone meal into the planting hole before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole Water well during dry spells. Top dress with a general purpose plant food as the last flowers fade. Allow foliage to die down naturally. If planted in grass, do not mow until foliage has yellowed. Flowering results improve each year
