Easy to install
I was a bit dubious about replacing an extremely old ball cock myself, having never done anything like this. I watched a video on YouTube and decided to give it a go. Really easy to fit, I found using a sponge to get rid of the excess water on the cistern useful. If you are buying this consider buying some fibre washers too as mine had perished and I had to go back to b&q.

Washer does not seal well
I just fitted an Ideal Standard valve to one loo and this Fluidmaster valve to another. The washers that seal the valve to the cistern are different. The Ideal Standard washer is slightly cupped and the Fluidmaster washer is flat. Despite gradually tightening the Fluidmaster nylon backnut until what feels like close to breaking-point, it still seeps slightly. The cup shape washer gave no problem at all. Hopefully it will seal itself overnight.

broken after few months
Easy to install but it got broken after few months. the original lasted over 7years , waste of money, now I have to look for a new one and I don't think I will get a refund as I don't have the bill any more

Disappointed
Well seems well made and works fine except it leaks at the bottom no matter what you do it leaks seems the seal at bottom is not good now have to pay and get a plumber in to do what should have been simple with another product that works

Great value for money product
This one was the second fill valve I bought. I bought a more expensive one with a plastic thread - after stripping thread I bought this one. It's great, the brass thread is a winner, buy it, you won't regret it, it should be twice the price. The installation is the critical issue but of course it fills cistern, quickly and relatively quietly. Great product, brass thread makes it winner.
