Leaks & short flush doesn't work properly
Fitted this 2 days ago, fine for a while, now slowly leaks into bowl. Also short (or half) flush doesn't work properly (stops as soon as you take your finger off button)

Fluidmaster to replace Torbec Variflush
Purchased to replace Torbec Variflush that had been a problem since installation. Read lots of reviews on internet and I agree that the Fluidmaster is a far superior product. You can see the quality and it has a silicone type flap washer so should last much longer. Good instructions and works well. You may need a separate washer to replace the one between the cistern and pan in a close coupled toilet system.

Does the job at a good price
We have a toilet that was bought from B&Q in a suite some years ago and it started continuously flushing/not turning off. After ascertaining that it wasn't the stop valve or float adjustment I concluded the fault it must be the dual flush valve. On examination of the valve assembly I saw moulded into the plastic top the words "LAB-sanitary" and on the side the code "B228". Searching on the internet I found a replacement with that brand name at a cost of over £35 plus postage. I noticed that the design of the Fluidmaster dual valve looked similar and indeed it is identical apart from the branding. It even has the code B228 embossed on the side. The valve part of the product is in a housing which can be separated by a simple twist - so just the faulty valve can be replaced without the big job of undoing the outlet. You of course have to disconnect the old button and cable and replace it with the one attached to the new valve. The job took me under 10 minutes and it was all cisterns go!

great valve
This flush valve is easy to fit even for a novice. Even on the half flush there is plenty of power & seldom have to use the full flush. Also like the built in overflow. It uses less water so the cistern fills quicker. Will never fit any other.

Push Button robustness - lack of
This item is part of the Newbury Toilet cistern. After 10 months of use, from new, the pushbutton has failed with the pushbutton holder parting completely around its base. A temporary repair is holding until I source a replacement but if this item has low robustness / durability then it should be available as a separate spare part. It appears I have to buy a complete flush valve assembly just to acquire the pushutton parts. That is wasting money and materials.
