Bought five shelves today 24th May 2020, being a lady on her own and most definitely no DIY expert, I found these shelves extremely easy to fit, make sure the arrow on the bracket is pointing upwards. The 2 screws supplied which are screwed into the brackets from the underside of the shelf make sure it is extra secure.

I bought it for the TV boxes just keep an eye on the arrow to make sure you get the bracket the right way up. Job done

Bought this yesterday to sit my Router on .Is Fine for purpose. Fitted easily, instructions sufficient, just make sure that the arrow on the mounting points upwards Is slightly angled when fitted to allow for max weight placed on it but loads of holes for screws to ensure that it is firm.

Given the correct instructions fitting this shelf and ensuring it is level and does not droop should be fine. The bracket does point up slightly so assume the poor review was because the bracket was fitted the wrong way. Possible fitting instruction could be clearer, though shown inside on paperwork. fitting screw size would also help, though video on site suggests 38 or 50mm long and probably depends on which size shelf so for the small one 38 should be fine.
