bought this to treat surface rust on a staircase.Following sanding painted the metal as per instructions.Within two days rust stains starting to show through the primer .This resulted in completly removing primer and re coating with a rival brand.Either a bad batch or poor quality, won,t be using again

We are a maintenance company and asked to do a lot it rusty verandas. I used This as a quick problem solver and will never go back. Amazing stuff
not compatible with topcoat

The tin claims that this paint can be finished with "any suitable topcoat". No it can't.
If you apply flag smooth finish metal paint on top of this primer the two will react together and you will have to take the whole lot off (expensive grit blasting) and start again.

I bought this paint previously for a small job to cover a small metal chair that had been left to rust.
I had no idea of what the paint was about; just a well-priced primer to do a chair, but I was delighted with the result - so was the person I did the chair for!
Firstly, it has an attractive pale warm grey colour, very similar to some very expensive paints that do the same job.
Also, with the correct thinning, a little goes a long way.
I'm now on another job to do some garden furniture with another tin of Fortress grey - would recommend this.
