Don't Buy

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT it is the worst flux you can buy it doesn't work, like all the other reviews I have wasted time and money on fitting, shame on B&Q for selling this garbage

solder

did job but recommend self fluxing solder for ease of use

Worse than useless

I bought this a few years ago and completed hundreds of solder joints without issue. I recently purchased some more as I was running low. At first I couldn't figure out why the solder wouldn't take. I tried new copper, new fittings all without success. I then retrieved my old tub of flux paste from the bin and managed to scrape enough together for a joint and bingo, a perfect joint. It would appear that the product on sale is now counterfeit or they have changed the recipe to something that simply does not work.

Didn't work

Just like everyone else, I couldn't understand why my joints would not take, multiple fittings, lots of pipe, loss off enthusiasm...it turns out the flux was no use!!!

Awful, awful product

Awful product. I’m a newbie at copper pipe soldering and just couldn’t get the solder to flow. Had suspicions it was the flux which doesn’t look good in the pot and having now read the reviews I see why I was having trouble. Wish I’d read them before buying but I just happened to be passing B&Q. Maybe next time I’ll walk on.

WORSE THAN USELESS

This product burns and blackens on copper pipe before solder melts. So it then actively blocks the solder from making a good joint. All 7 solder joints I tried, failed. After 3 more attempts I was still failing. So I remade a joint without any flux, applied solder, and hey presto. I can do this. Unless I'm using this product. Please take it off the shelves!

What. The. Flux.

Came here to see if I'd accidentally bought the wrong kind of flux as it was cooking and every single joint of failed, but based on the other reviews for once I CAN blame my tools. This stuff is absolute junk. Have ruined several fittings and have to start over. Not impressed with the product, even less to find out B&Q have already been told over and over again that it's useless and are still selling it.

Do not buy

Agree with all reviews. Flux burns and turns to black carbon before the solder is hot enough to melt. Used on solder ring fittings which failed. Will be returning this useless product and asking for replacement fittings.

Worse than no flux at all ...do not buy !

Burns on the pipe then stops the solder from taking

Flux bad, solder ok

Very frustrating mess until I gave up, got other flux and realised how utterly useless this was.
