Great product.
I didn't expect these to work seeing the temp they melt at and being close to the melting temp of the aluminium I'm joining, however i was pleasantly surprised and impressed. Not easy to use and may require practice. I melted the aluminium i was repairing however also repaired that with the same rods bridging a small hole. I suspect if you can't heat the base metal to near 700°c it wont work.

100% success with copper to copper jewellery
Was a little doubtful both on my novice status to welding/brazing & this so far unknown product. Did it exactly as described on the pack 1st time. Very easy Heated up the copper I was joining to a good strong cherry red then introduced the rod through the flame to the joint….. Job done.

Worst thing to buy
I'VE bought this rods and the temperature is far higher than advertised. Spent a full 631ml gas bottle to heat up a small piece of steel and couldn't get any result. Avoid

Terrible product
I purchased this product for a small job , only to weld up a small crack in an aluminium tray but even after thoroughly cleaning the area and making sure metal was heated up to temperature , the weld would not take and ran straight off. Very poor product and a waste of money !

Sorry, I agree with the others: rubbish rods!!
I have some pretty decent skills in this area and quite a lot of experience, but getting these rods to do their job was nearly impossible, even with 1.5mm virgin steel

Completely and utterly useless, AVOID
Bought this to do a small join between two aluminium spacers, no real load, just had to stick them together. Got through both rods trying to get a join, cleaned the area with a new stainless brush, the aluminium itself was nice and hot, and this stuff simply runs straight off. No wetting, no chance of adhesion, nothing. It either burns up or runs off off like the aluminium were teflon. B&Q need to withdraw these from sale as they are simply not fit for purpose.

Less than one star!
I'd award these pieces of crud negative points if I could... The idea that these could be sold as described is a mockery of the term "fit for purpose". Avoid avoid avoid!!!
