Excellent finish

Coverage was excellent, finish is fantastic only fault is it’s a bit messy to clean off but if you use hammer right thinners it cleans fine.

Great product

I bought this product a month ago and they got the best price nationwide. I bet you can't get any better. You can check it yourself

Excellent metal paint. Good price too. Recommended

Excellent paint. Went right onto the metal railing. Even on rusty parts. After that the water didn't penetrate. Great coverage too.

Smoothrite paint

Used it on top of some aged hammer finish and it worked well with one decent coat to cover a colour change.

Quality paint

I brought it a month ago and had to paint my railings so it was a tedious job and took a couple of weeks but looks amazing. I painted them 10 years ago with the same paint so it does what it says

Best straight to rust paint!

Tradesman decorator... Best straight to rust paint! Make sure to scrape/clean all flaking areas. Dust down and spot prime the areas with the Hammerite. Then apply a full coat to all areas. (I would recommend two full coats)

Garage doors

Did our large twin garage doors in the black Hammerite and they look fantastic. Easy to apply if a bit thick and it thickens as you use the paint up so is harder to apply. Expensive but high quality. I am doing cast iron guttering next and it should be great for that.

Paint Job

Formula changed

The formula changed about ten years ago. They still call it hammerite but it has new owners and although it claims to be high in VOCs it might as well be latex-based. I covered some gaps 24 hours ago and went to check it expecting the finish to be as tough as the original paint around it. You can literally scrape it off with your fingernail. I now have to decide whether to demand a refund or trust the claim that it will last for "eight years". If I go ahead and do the whole job and find it rusting again by next Spring the word "furious" will not begin to describe how I will feel.
