Does the job
Bought one of these in March for use during my house refurbishment. 5 months later still going strong, no complaints. Excellent, easy to use very useful tool. Highly recommend

A good little mitre saw
I bougnt this one as my other, larger one was getting tired. it seems a sweet thing and cuts 40mm thick wood no problem. The laser line up feature works well.

Poor design with regards to blade guard, avoid.
Have just returned it to B&Q for refund, the store staff were great 'Stafford branch' and they agreed with me that the the blade guard had a problem in that it made contact with the cutting bed when the blade was lowered. As the guard has no running wheels, which nearly all the other models and makes have, you would expect that the guard would have a few millimetres clearance from the base when it was lowered before pushing the blade forward to make the cut. Sadly, the guard hits the base and if you're not careful you can, and most probably will eventually damage the guard. I've looked carefully at 'other makes' and I cannot see any that do this, they either have a little wheel, or wheels which the guard runs on or it has a small clearance before it moves forward, whilst still providing protection from your fingers touching the blade. I think it was a corner cut to reduce the cost but one that spoils an otherwise good budget machine, especially with a 2 year warranty.

Husband loves it
He found it easy to set up, and easy to use. Says it took him an hour to cut the wood with mitred joints with it - rather than several days. Not giving it the full 5 in case the laser stops working, like the first one did (this is a replacement which was needed after only a few days, due to a malfunctioning laser).
