new breed
Bought this a week ago to replace a previous manual start Mac that the rats had attacked and chewed off start chord. Although same cut width and motor, this new model seems lighter and is a dream to use. The electric start means there is no priming, choke, or accelerator setting. All things that you can do without. You simply press a button, it fires up, and off you go. Feels like a mower for the 21st century. Haven't tried the mulcher or side discharge unit yet, although these worked well on old Mac, so expect they will for this one. Just one quirky thing. You plug in the ignition battery before use, just as you would for any power tool. But, before you do this you must put it on the charger for a few seconds to "wake it up". Otherwise, even if completely charged, it will appear dead.
