Humidity Sensor Covered by Casing
I bought this for its humidity sensor, but there are two issues with it that render it pretty poor: 1. The humidity sensor is covered by the casing. There is a gap in the casing for humid air to enter, but the gap is above the sensor. The result is that, in a steamy room with the casing on but light switch off, the “humidistat” doesn’t activate. Without the casing, the sensor detects steam and activates the fan. Of course, casing has to be on, which renders it useless at dehumidifying once someone has left the room and turned the lights off. 2. The instructions are unclear. Written instructions say “anti-clockwise increases sensitivity”, but in the diagram it shows clockwise with a + symbol - so I’ve no idea which is correct, although moving the dial as far anti-clockwise as possible ensures the fan remains on 100% of the time. Separately to the activation issues, it’s really loud - noticeably louder than the fan it replaced, which was rated 27dB (higher rating but quieter than the Manrose). I’m going to return this unit.
