Reviews
Nice, easy-to-fit bathroom lock
Tzimi - 1 month ago
I bought this lock as part of my new bathroom refurbishment project. I did notice that a lot of the reviews were negative, but decided to give it a try anyway... The instructions were detailed & easy to follow, but written in tiny, difficult-to-read writing! Fortunately, I didn't have to reverse the lock. Fitting the lock took about two hours, and so far it's working fine. One point to note is that I needed to shorten the main spindle by a few mm using my Dremel, as it was binding on the insides of the handles & making them stiff. To go with my new lock, I chose the white Abla handles & lock knobs (see pictures). So far, the lock is working fine, and I'm very happy with it.
Terrible - Jammed

Same as others, jammed and couldn’t open door, terrible unsafe product
I wouldn’t recommend this!

I would not recommend this. Whatever you do don’t open this up to change the latch round. All parts fall out and no instructions to piece back together again. Cheaply made. Disappointed with this product!
Failed after 4 years

Like others, trapped someone in toilet when handle lock failed. Had to remove outside handle and rescue them with pliers and brute force :/
Time B&Q upgraded this
Reversing latch is a nightmare!
Farky - 3 years ago
There are 'instructions' to reverse the latch, which pretty much say, look and remember what the inside of the device is like when you dismantle it, watching out for the flying parts as you open it up, reverse the latch and put it back together! Hey presto! Not quite. Latch spring is now rubbish. The whole thing is cheaply made, especially if you have to dismantle it yourself to make it reversible...keep away!
