It does what it says it will
Bought this because of reasonable price. It does the job fine. A rotating head would make the job easier but this tool is only used seasonally

Waste of time & Money
Brought this pole chainsaw so I didn't have to stretch with either a chainsaw or hedge cutter. However this thing is only 20cms like a toy but heavy when extended. It acts like a toy the chain comes off regularly especially if you try to cut a conifer branch. Waste of time & money.

It does the job as expected
Works well and does the job as expected it extends longer than what I thought it would. For my usage the price was ideal

Good tool at an affordable price!
Having done some research on pole saws, for my particular needs and situation, this product fitted the bill at an affordable price (I was also lucky that this was in clearance!). Having used the tool a number of times I have found it sturdy and easy to clean/maintain. With a quality Oregon 8"chain saw it is ideal for cutting branches up to this size. The attached harness is a must to counter balance the weight of the motor at the end of the pole. The maximum reach of the pole is about the optimum for safe operation. The motor is more than powerful enough and the cable reach is perfectly adequate. My only gripe is that you cannot tilt the saw blade motor unit to reach awkward to reach branches but then you would expect to pay more for this feature. All in all I am very pleased with the quality and performance of the product at this price!

Like a hot knife through butter
I bought this last month to prune branches overhanging the road. Although it felt a bit awkward to start with due to getting the balance right the saw cut through the 3 inch thick branches with no problem! Then used it to trim and chop up the branches.

Junk - Avoid buying
Cuts nothing, used it to cut a branch and motor blew.

Good performance for the price
I bought this product to trim to top of some trees in my garden. The Pole Saw worked extremely well cutting through quite large, 10-15cm branches. A little heavy at the saw end when fully extended, but alleviated by the strap. It looks quite sturdy, but time will tell.

Good but bad
So, I bought this for handling my willow tree, it works as expected, better even. Sadly, I used it for the 3rd maybe 4th time today and it's just stopped working, literally, was cutting branches then just stopped. Changed the fuse in the plug, Nothing. Annoyingly, B&Q only offer returns within 12mths, which on seasonal products like this isn't great when things go wrong. So, now I'm left with a malfunction tool & no where to go with it. Buyer beware.

Why Bad Reviews?
Bought this for a one off job as a throw away after reading some bad reviews, but it's just as good as my other chains. Really impressed with this, I won't be throwing it away! Dealt with 50yards of birch and pruned an orchard with ease. Checked chain tension after 15 mins of use and tightened slightly. This the norm with all new chains as the rivets stretch on first use and becomes very slightly slack when the chain gets hot. 2700mm is the overall length extended from end of butt to tip of chain. 4.3kg weight including flex. Pros Chain is Low kickback. Sturdy rubber flex. Good oil usage with standard chain oil, chain stayed wet. Shoulder strap significantly reduces fatigue. Not that noisy and low vibration. Nothing came loose. Cons Foam ripped slightly after 3 days, but hey oh, its only foam. Could do with the head having a sideways angle adjustment to trim hedge tops, but I'm just being picky. As for the bad reviews on:- Not cutting - Ensure the chain is on the correct way around and don't let the chain contact the ground. Grit and mud will dull a chain in seconds. Chain coming loose - Ensure the side cover cowling tabs are aligned correctly before tightening the centre knob. Don't know size of chain - The spec is on the bag the chain came in, on the bar & the Oregon part number (Q91VG033E) is in the manual.

really good
Sadly I can't use this any more - not because it's defective or because I managed to chop my limbs off or anything similar - I cant use it as I don't have any garden left to use it on! I went out to prune one Holly tree - 4 hrs later the entire garden was on the lawn... several large shrubs. 5 trees and half the fence! It's addictive! In all honesty, it's very easy to assemble and use. Make sure you really tighten the chain and keep the oil topped up. It's a tad top heavy but that's to be expected as that's where the motor is. Excellent bit of kit
