Simple to fit once old tap is opened up
This was used to replace a plastic t shaped washer insert on an old style bath tap. The original was probably a brass insert with rubber washer and the plastic T had been used at a later date. The plastic had now perished and cracked so was leaking with the tap off. This kit is simple to fit, the conical insert presses into the tap base and the top hat piece replaces the cracked plastic and seats onto the insert. The tap handle sits slightly higher by a few millimetres but its way cheaper than replacing a pair of taps. The only difficult part was getting the tap apart without damaging it. Once fitted, do not overtighten the tap as this is not necessary to provide a good seal.

Useless For 3/4 Inch Taps
Out of the 5 sets I have purchased the last 4 have only contained seats for 1/2 inch taps only, so totally useless for 3/4 taps. Come on B&Q whats gone wrong.

OK if bedded on filler
I needed to repair an 3/4 old bath tap. To replace the tap would have needed removal of the bath, and destroyed tiles. The old tap seat seat was badly corroded - too deep to recut. Initially I just pushed the new full-stop seat in. It did not stop the dripping. I guessed that the new seat, being hard plastic, would not seal against the corroded seat. ( Combi boiler, mains pressure ). I bedded it on to resin 2 part metal filler, rated at 130 degrees.( Firstly make sure everything is completely dry ) Screwed the tap washer down onto it, and let the filler set. Then it sealed fine. With header tank pressure, an O ring under the full-stop seat might work

Plastic full stop washer and seat set
This item is for a tap in my house in france. This method had been recommended to me but I had trouble in sourcing the necessary items. I should have known better and looked in B&Q first! Not yet utilised but they appear to be the very thing needed. . They should do the trick but even if they do not I cannot complain given the very small cost.
