Polished Chrome effect Metal Bathroom Mortice latch

Got the lock home to find packet had been opened and resealed with tape , missing frame striker plate, not impressed.

I'm actually amazed that they are still selling this when there are all these reviews saying the exact same thing. The same thing I've had happen but unfortunately wasn't the one who purchased them. Once you change the latch around as the door swings a different way, as soon as the handle is pushed down, the latch catches inside and won't "pop" back out. Everytime I have to place a knife or screwdriver in to simply flick it down to release it.

Purchased to replace broken mechanism. Changed as instructed by removing screw and remembering how parts were fitted into the case!! Placed back into door and fittings attached only to find that the closer now kicks up and stays inside the case when handle operated to open the door. Several attempts at reassembly and realignment does not resolve the issue. Original orientation for mechanism works fine, so it is only when change to reconfigure for opening that the issue occurs. Will replace with a branded version that has simpler change for the "shoe" and is cheaper than stores own branded junk!

I bought this product to fit my bathroom door, but lock jamming in its housing .product not working , my advice is don’t buy this.
