This clear interior varnish from the Ronseal Interior diamond hard range can be applied to interior using a brush. The varnish dries in just 20 minutes and will cover up to 24 m² per litre on average.
- Guarantee - Statutory
- Surface Preparation - Ensure the room is warm and ventilated. To prepare the wood for varnishing, give the surface a wipe down with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt and oil. Use 120 grit sandpaper to give the surface a quick sand and smooth out any rough patches. If the wood has an old coating on it, sand away the peeling, loose and flaking bits so the surface is even. Let the dust settle and wipe it away with a damp cloth. Leave the wood to dry thoroughly before varnishing.
- Instructions for Use - Give your varnish a stir, and test the colour on a hidden patch to make sure you’re happy with it. It may darken your wood slightly but it should bring out its natural colour. If you’re happy with how it looks, apply an even layer of the varnish painting in the direction of the woodgrain. Wait one hour for the coat to dry. You will need two to three coats for complete coverage and protection. Before you apply your final coat (whether that’s the second or third), sand down the surface and wipe the dust off with a cloth. This will help your final coat stick smoothly and will give you a perfect finish.

Great coverage for natural look of garden fence ! !

Not gloss
Whilst easy to use this is a poor high gloss finish. I started using an old tin (10 years old) of good old fashioned, ronseal clear high gloss, fab shiny hard finish. Needed more and only option was this new milky version of varnish. Not a patch on good old fashioned varnish - ho hum.

Absolute Rubbish. No Shine Whatever.
Despite the name don’t buy this expecting a deep gloss! I applied 4 coats rubbing down with 180 grade before the last 2 and the result is patchy and negligable shine. It goes on like watered down milk and about as much use. Doesn’t build up at all however many coats. Dries nice and quick but now I’ve got to rub it all down and start again. This £40 worth of rubbish is going straight to the tip.

Does what it says on tin
I bought this a month ago and it was fantastic. Beautiful shine on my doors. Varnished a shelf years ago and was dreading doing 4 doors but it was so easy. You can see where you are putting it and drys within the hour. Did 3 coats giving a gentle sanding in between and even though say so myself looks like an expert did them.

Poor finish .
I bought this last week, it's not gloss, finish is quite dull, my rating would be minus 5 but could only do one, very poor product.

Not good for kitchen pine table
Ten days ago we put 4 coats of this on our kitchen table which we had carefully sanded down to a bare surface. The depth of gloss is poor. This morning there are marks on the table from the rubber mat under the teapot. This is not tough enough for table use.
