This clear interior varnish from the Ronseal Interior diamond hard range can be applied to interior using a brush. The varnish dries in just 20 minutes and will cover up to 24 m² per litre on average.
- Guarantee - Statutory
- Surface Preparation - Ensure the room is warm and ventilated. To prepare the wood for varnishing, give the surface a wipe down with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt and oil. Use 120 grit sandpaper to give the surface a quick sand and smooth out any rough patches. If the wood has an old coating on it, sand away the peeling, loose and flaking bits so the surface is even. Let the dust settle and wipe it away with a damp cloth. Leave the wood to dry thoroughly before varnishing.
- Instructions for Use - Give your varnish a stir, and test the colour on a hidden patch to make sure you’re happy with it. It may darken your wood slightly but it should bring out its natural colour. If you’re happy with how it looks, apply an even layer of the varnish painting in the direction of the woodgrain. Wait one hour for the coat to dry. You will need two to three coats for complete coverage and protection. Before you apply your final coat (whether that’s the second or third), sand down the surface and wipe the dust off with a cloth. This will help your final coat stick smoothly and will give you a perfect finish.

Good Varnish
I've always uses Ronseal for varnish. Easy to apply, quick drying and good finish. As anything, need to be careful of drips but it always gave me good results.

Not good for dark finishes
Used this to provide extra durability to hand rail which we had painted black . Although it was meant to be a clear varnish ,it left a milky residue which was clearly visible when dried . Also used it on white wood and there were no issues

Excellent
I always use Ronseal for my projects and once I tried it, I haven’t bothered even considering something else. It goes on evenly with ease and, depending on how dark you want it, 2 coats has been fine for my indoor projects but I did do 3 for the outside bench. If I’m organised, I could do all 3 coats in a day as it dries very quickly

Easy to use varnish.
Sanded down an old cupboard and used then this varnish.Easy to apply and has produced a good result.
