• Ensure decking is free from all dust, dirt, oil, mildew, algae and other contaminants. Remove all existing loose, flaking or peeling coatings. For best results clean surfaces thoroughly with Ronseal Decking Cleaner and Reviver prior to application and allow to dry thoroughly. Ensure all cleaning residues are completely washed away to maximise the performance. Always test on an inconspicuous area before starting general application to ensure the desired result will be achieved.
• Shake well and pour into a suitable container. Get loads of Protector on your brush or pad and apply evenly over 2 or 3 boards at a time in the direction of the grain. If you find that the Decking Protector has pooled in the ridges of the deck after 15 minutes then use a brush to spread these pools of Decking Protector to dryer areas. For maximum protection apply 2 coats. Re-coat as soon as the first coat is dry (maximum 2 hours). Be careful not to leave too long between the coats, as the second coat may be repelled by the first coat. Allow 24 hours after applying second coat before using your deck.
