Like all Ronseal products pretty good but not worth the money . On a properly cleaned dry decking apply a cheap and cheerful clear decking oil as an undercoat . Wait 24/48 hours . Apply the basic Ronseal Decking oil and the finish is as good as if not better than the Ultimate. For me Natural Decking Oil is the tops ...
Doubtful

I wish I had read the reviews before buying this product.
I had previously used an oil-based product for garden furniture, garage doors etc with apparent success. The usual material being no longer in stock and my need being urgent, I purchased this material in a hurry thinking it to be equivalent, if not superior.
It is sold as "oil" but is water-based, so much so that even spills on clothes rinsed out without trace. If you are seeking something that looks and feels like oil, then you may be in for a big and expensive disappointment.
We'll now have to wait for a few months to see the results.
Not bad, but!!

Thanks to a previous owner I have acres of wood decking. I re-oil every two years at great cost. This year I used the Ronseal's 'Ultimate' decking oil which applied nicely but you MUST apply at least two coats to get a sheen water proof finish. Do not use Ronseal's 'ordinary' decking oil; it is like water!! The 'Ultimate' may be a few pounds more but the additional cost is well worth it. If ever a high maintenance item was installed in the garden it is wooden decking. I now have plans to remove it all next year as the bi-annual cost of maintenance and oiling is too high.
