Worst paint ever

Stirred this tin thoroughly poured back and fourth into a another container and still ended up 3 different shades of grey! Used half a tin 1 day the next day stirred it and it went down a different colour again!! Don’t waste your money £64 for 2 tins and has ruined my decking! Stay well away!!

Don’t waste Your money

I got six tins of this product last summer lasted about two weeks. Six months later you can barely see the paint anymore the rain is cleared most of it absolutely unbelievable especially the price paid.

Awful!

Used this stain last year on brand new decking. All prepped exactly as instructed and looks beautiful to start with but this product does NOT last beyond a few weeks!!! Had to re-stain several times throughout last summer and now after a few winter months it looks worse than ever! Stain is literally flaking off in patches leaving it looking dirty and patchy. Going to have to re-sand and start again with a better product! Very poor

RUBBISH

Wish i had read the reviews before i wasted my time and money. Beautiful finish for 5 months, now it looks like someone has had a go with a wire brush.

Awful

This went on well but after just 3 months of winter it’s all started to peel off - waste of money. Will be speaking to B&Q to discuss if this item is actually fit for purpose - was properly prepped too

Great decking stain

Purchased to modernise old tired decking, which looks fantastic, process applied was as follows; Used a belt sander to remove grim - 1 hour Applied 3 coats - approx 1 hour per coat Slightly watered down coats 2 & 3 which allowed a better spread, Total m2 - approx 35 Works completed in 1 day Need to see how it bares up under foot traffic / daily use etc however hard work is now done so worst case might need to apply another coat at a later date, same applies if we wanted to change the colour.

Response to bad reviews

Patience and a strong arm or two are required. Stir, stir and stir again. I found that if I stirred the whole tin really well for a good few minutes and then decant a little into a tray and keep swirling it round with the brush; then STIR AGAIN in the tin before decanting more, it goes on perfectly well and even. I put this colour on scaffolding boards that we have used for decking and looks great, well I think so. I would suspect that all the bad reviews are due to putting on too quickly and thickly, and not stirring. Obviously this has oil in it and as with everything oil based it needs stirring. I also found that not slapping it on too thickly and giving it two thins coats is far better. I would suspect this product goes on better on new or untreated decking rather than old from the photos I've seen. Also preparation is key! We jet washed the boards thoroughly getting rid of ALL the dirt and grime and left them to dry out for at least a week. I would recommend this product if you have the time and patience to prep well and apply with care. I do think it's rather expensive compared to others, but having tried the cheaper ones, you get what you pay for as with most things. So PREP, STIR, APPLY and stir as you go. It's not easy which is why I have given ease of use a Fair rating, but the end result is great if done properly. The two images are after rain where the water is sitting as it should and in sunshine. Good luck.

Nice colour good coverage

A word of caution, I admit it’s totally my fault! Make sure you stir well to the bottom of the tin, I didn’t and now have two shades of grey on my decking!

Waste of money

I bought this paint to stain my decking and got 2 tins as it was on offer but still expensive @£48 for 2, I'd read review after buying the paint already but give it a go waste of money as I'd stirred it and was an OK colour on stiring again was completely different colour so couldnt carry on.... Disaster #donotbuy

Rubbish

Expensive product, constantly stirring to make sure the colour kept the same, to find it like painting with water. Took far to many layer and ended up 2 different colours. Waste of time and money
