Product details

Product information

With a quick coat of Rust-Oleum chalky finish furniture spray paint, you can now achieve a flat matt finish with a classic, smooth touch. With the ease of application, it brings new life to tired and worn-out pieces of furniture. Finish with a layer of Rust-Oleum furniture finishing wax or Rust-Oleum furniture lacquer for protection

  • For use on Furniture
  • Suitable for use on Brick, plaster, stone & wood surfaces
  • Surface Preparation - For best results, ensure the surface is clean, dry, free from loose paint, mould, mildew and wax or oil. If wax has been used clean the surface thoroughly with a suitable wax remover. We recommend that bare wood should be sanded before painting. Hard glossy surfaces should be abraded before painting. Cover surrounding areas to protect from spray mist
  • Instructions for Use - Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute after mixing ball begins to rattle and continue to shake regularly during use. Hold the can 30cm from surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. For best results, while spraying keep the can in motion and at the same distance from the surface. To create a distressed look, apply two coats of contrasting colours. Allow to dry and then lightly abrade with a damp Scotch-Brite pad or a stainless steel scourer. Abrade with the grain of wood. Protect the distressed effect with Rust-Oleum furniture finishing wax or Rust-Oleum furniture lacquer.

Great product

Used this to up-cycle some furniture. Looks great now.

Anthracite colour is lighter than expected

The colour is not as shown - it is light/mid grey, a pretty colour but not the dark grey shown on the tin and adverts. Painted cabinet hoping it would be OK but will probably have to buy a different make and start again.

Completely the wrong colour

Anthracite is more of a dark grey The colour this has dried is a very light blue grey The product itself is really good but the colour is completely wrong.

Difficult to apply, colour name inacurate

The colour Anthracite is not accurate, it is more of a mid-grey. The colour is nice, just shouldn't be called Anthracite. The paint is fiendishly difficult to apply if you want a nice even finish. After many coats it is impossible to achieve a uniform finish without streak marks and lighter/darker patches. As I have done so many coats I did not get the advertised coverage from the tin. The paint is not hard-wearing despite being described as furniture paint. I had to get some expensive clear matt finish varnish to complete the job. First and last time I try Rustoleum, I will use a different brand next time.

This colour is not anthracite

Totally annoyed as the colour of this paint is more like a battleship grey, nowhere near dark enough to be anthracite. Beware.

Shelly2020 - 1 / 5 - 28/04/2020

Nothing like the indicated colour

£32 gone to waste!! No sample size in store and the displayed sample piece in store is nothing like the colour when I've painted the furniture at home. It has an awful blue hint to the colour. Absolutely gutted!! The paint went on quite easy though, make sure you use a good mini roller. Kids are complaining the smell is awful but I cant smell it. Cant wait to save the pennies for a different colour!!

Exactly what it says on the tin

Bought this to do a bit of up-cycling on some older furniture, does exactly what it says and looks great! Really happy with how easy it is to use and saves painting which I hate, looks slightly darker in photo but overall colour is very similar to advertised, maybe slightly darker.
