I'm a plumber who has always used either dewalt or makita but my 24v dewalt batteries were losing there charge,so i thought i would give this a go as the 4ah are supposed to be good, and it didn't disappoint it's doing the same job as my 24v dewalt

Simply amazing

Read all the other reviews on here and decided to go ahead and buy one. I expected to do the job but with less performance that the mains powered Bosch. First tried the drill with a NiCad and performance was as expected - nothing more. The drill limped through the job (14mm hole through a 100mm fence post with 8mm pilot hole and a further 15mm into Accrington Brick i.e. tough as old boots!!!) and to be honest if this was the level of performance the drill would have gone back for a refund - However.... Next changed the battery for a Lithium 4Ah also purchased with the drill and advise of other reviewers here. The difference in performing was simply amazing. Drilled the other four holes in less than a quarter of the time taken for one hole with a NiCad. I just would not have expected the level of performance that simply changing the battery (charged Lithium battery to full prior to first use - just in case) would have caused. It simply blew me away. Also have to say that the drill doesn't like to be forced. I got much better (and quicker) results when I didn't try to force the drill but let the SDS do its job. Great Drill, don't be put of by the low scoring review. If I needed to buy a Battery SDS drill again (e.g. the one I now have gets nicked) I would buy another one of these with a Lithium 4Ah battery.

Awesome bit of kit

Have always been a big fan of the one system just not the Ni-cad batteries of old, this twinned with Lithium batteries is a proper bit of kit and seems to handle any wall/floor I throw at it with ease. I'm so happy with this I bought my dad one.

After a resonable amount of research and consideration I optied to buy this particular drill having obtained the One+ battery system for the Combi-Drill. The SDS drill was bought so that I could stitch drill a 100mm concrete blockwork wall between our house and garage for installation of a doorway. I opted top use a 10mm x 210mm bit to try and keep things as neat as possible and have found this drill more than capable. I would agree with "Bigdrillfan" that the 2.4ah lithium battery should be the minimum as I also have a 1.4ah battery which lasts about a quarter of the time of the 2.4ah (have no experience of the "cheaper batteries). This will be the largest job I will be asking the drill to do and have every confidence in its capability and will make a great addition to the tool box for when a bit extra is needed.

Good value, compact drill

I could not help but disagree with the previous review, I found this to be a very capable bit of kit indeed. Of course it's not going to compete with larger corded drills, but it certainly holds its own! I've been using mine all day fixing up timber battens to brickwork, each hole was 6mm by approx 50mm deep and I've done over 100 on a fully charged 2.4ah lithium battery. It is so lightweight and easy to use in either hand, whether at waist height or overhead. All in all, I'm over the moon with it! My biggest bit of advice to anyone looking at buying one of these is make sure you have decent batteries, either the 2.4ah or 3.0ah lithium batteries, don't even bother with the cheap nicad ones, they aren't up to the job.
