Waste of Money
I bought this because my local B & Q only had this plane available. Needed to trim half a centimeter off the bottom of the door. The product is poorly designed and has little area to grip. Because of this, and with the blunt blade it took over an hour before getting fed up and jigsawing the bottom off the door.

complete garbage and thats being kind
i bought one of these to trim a door down, it ripped the wood on my new door , tried adjusting it but thats not possible , this rubbish about sharpening it is giving the product 2 stars it doesnt deserve 1 star when do you buy a new tool that needs sharpening?????? it should be sharp to start with would these people buy a blunt stanley knife and think it was good after sharpening it ? i would need to swear to describe this plane accurately , if your in the lake district and you want one of these theres a skip outside my house with one in it its only 2 hours old

Awful, awful toy
Shocking purchase, B & Q should ditch this now! not as described and blade was rusty! Horrible things that just damaged the door. Avoid at all costs

Simply does not work
I totally agree with Cara51's review. It says there are 2 wheels but there are only one and this thing was impossible to properly adjust and didn't work anyway. Also irritating to see useless comments on here about sharpening it on oil stones or whatever, it should work out of the box.

Useless
I just needed a cheap block plane to smooth off some cabinet door edges so tried this one. Absolutely useless, could not even extend the blade due to very poor misaligned, plastic adjusting wheel. Not worth £1 let alone £10. Do not buy!

Not worth a tenner
Bought this last week -- does not look like the website photo even though it has the same product number. Does not have "two adjusting wheels" but one cheap plastic one set crooked on the adjusting screw (see photo). Perhaps mine was missing a wheel, but it was in an unopened, heat-sealed package. Could not adjust the blade at all and returned it after one week. As I found it, this plane was not usable at all.

Nice tool, needs sharpening
We had new carpets fitted, and I needed to adjust the bottom of 2 doors. The ideal tool was a plane but I didn't want to spend a fortune on an item I would use a couple of times. This is well constructed and comprises only three pieces, is light and fits the hand well. However, it needs a big sign on the box that says "sharpen before use" ! It was removing random little chips, luckily being an amateur woodcarver I knew about sharpening, and with a little effort on a moderate stone, the plane was removing nice strips off he door without any effort. Great little tool for the occasional amateur, just remember to sharpen it correctly first!
