Multi tool

Superb 4 in 1 multi tool that has a chain saw, hedge trimmer, brush cutter and strimmer. It has an extension pole to enable you to reach large bushes with the strimmer or chain saw. Getting a new chain seems to be a problem otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Very poor

I got this thinking it was ideal for the prise. Used it twice last year, never worked since..

DBLT3 - 2 / 5 - 13/05/2020

Easy start, good performance, poor reliability

This is my second one and both have the same fault of the exhaust falling to bits. I have just mended mine again, but even though I used thread lock liquid they still shake themselves to destruction! However, they do start very easily and perform well.

Poor

This is a waste of money and time used once . Fuel starvation.

NOT IMPRESSED.

Bought this item and has worked well. BUT, I've lost the locking nut off the end of the bushcutter attachment. Mac Allister website tells you that it doesn't carry parts n directs you to BNQ for parts. So I then go to BNQ who tell me they can't help either, so I'm now stuck with it. BE CAREFUL!!!! GREAT MACHINE BUT MAKE SURE YER NUTS ARE TIGHT !!!!. Going to try and get a refund and will look at getting same item from different manifacturer.

not for the faint hearted

I have been using it for 8 months on a personal major garden project. The motor is great and starts every time. The rest is flakey and I don't know how it passed health & safety. The bolts for the handled stripped the plastic threads on assembly, The strap eyehole is like a ring pull from a coke can and the strap attachment spring went farily quickly so it does not stay on the strap. the bolts holding the shaft together regularly strip and I have now replaced them with stronger threaded bolts. The bush cutter is good but regularly comes loose and needs tightend. It is secured with a cotter pin which is impractical when it needs constant tightening. I don't use the strimer as you have to disassemble the bush cutter to put the strimmer on the same shaft. It should have its own shaft for easy switch over. Lately the shaft securing pin jumps out while using the chain saw and it is very dangerous. If you are mechanically minded this is a cheap multi cutter but best avoided if you do not have the confidence to takle the jobs I have described. It has done everything I have needed, I am just very careful of its weaknesses.

Does a good job, but ...

Having moved to a house with a larger garden, more trees and a couple of high hedges I got this to help keep it all under control. There does seem to be a bit of a knack in getting the engine to start, basically don't try on full choke for too long. Once started though it never fails to start on first pull during a session. I have used the strimmer, hedge cutter and the pruning chainsaw so far. The strimmer is great, as is the hedge trimmer if a little heavy and unwieldy with the extra extension in place. The pruning saw also worked well for a time, about 15 minutes at a guess. After which the chain was so blunt it would not cut. I also had an issue with the chain tensioner screw shearing off, but was able to effect a repair by drilling an extra hole in the blade guide. Overall I would say so far it's been better value than buying separate tools, but the speed at which the chainsaw became ineffective was disappointing.
