If only the lid was better quality!
I bought a tin of this, the paint has done exactly what I wanted, we painted new wood years ago and the knots have seeped and we have brown spots on our woodwork, this has completely covered the stains up. The tin however, is really flimsy, the lid has just completely bent rather than be prized open. Very poor quality for the £12 we paid.

After 2 years
After 2 years of using this knots from the wood are showing through so have to redo all the woodwork through my house. Not happy

White water
Doesn't do anything it's says on the tin. Waste of time using it.

Rubbish
Used this product on a whole house refurb, All brand new woodwork throughout doorframe doors the lot. Knots are bleeding through and paintwork now looking yellow and streaky due to wood showing through. Awful product. Now have to repaint a whole house in less then 9 months.had to give a 1 star rating to give a review when in reality it deserves a minus 5

3 coats needed
Poor opacity so requires 3 or more coats to cover reasonably well i.e. not really an undercoat. Has then worked to block knots though. Most annoying is the poor quality tin lid. On subsequent use the lid lip just bends and the lid requires pliers to remove!

Simply does not work
I applied this as per the instructions and initially the knots weren't visible. After a few months the knots started bleeding through the top coat and a year on the woodwork looks dreadful. This product seems to work no better than standard primer - but costs a lot more. I contacted Ronseal but they were not intersted in knowing that their product does not work. I'm now left with days of work to sort out the mess. My advice is stick to the old trusted Shellac Knotting Solution

Poor coverage
I bought this product to go on bare wood but it took so many coats to cover the colour of the bare wood and even then I wasn't happy about it Don't rate it at all, I thought you could trust Ronseal but obviously not.

Not very good
Bought this as i thought would be the best thing to cover new knotted would for skirting and architrave around doors - Put on 3 coats and then covered with a once coat gloss and i can still see knot marks through the paint. i wouldn't recommend this - as a cheaper product would be just as good, in this case Ronseal doesn't do what it says on the tin!
