Bon produit

I love this circular saw
This is an absolutely great circsaw, I have used it on a ton of projects and it is brilliant. I love the laser guide, it is a fast and accurate cut and its saved me a lot of time. There’s someone below writing about a flimsy substructure and inconsistent bevels due to varying hand pressure - dont let that put you off, when you want a straight and clean cut, two clamps and a straight edge are the solution here, as are any of the track saw guides you can get pretty cheaply now. This applies to any circular saw; theres a reason the tracksaw exists and the two are similar but not to be confused. Also a circular saw aways has to start at one edge of the wood, which means you have to chop all the way from one edge. If you want a cut that doesnt start at either edge, that can start in the middle of a peice of wood, then check out plunge saws - most come with tracks too!

Good little saw
I bought this saw to cut up long planks of oak, beech and walnut when they come into the workshop and make it easier to stick through the table saw. Cuts through no problem at all. I also use it on site for cutting fillets and blanking panels. When doing this job I think I will need a finer blade. I know B&Q don’t sell them but I would rather buy the brand I use on all my other machines. Overall very easy to use and a good saw for the price.

Très correct
Fonctionne très bien. Le laser m'a un peu aidé mais n'est pas indispensable. A très bien coupé mon plan de travail de 38mm en stratifié ainsi que mes fileurs de cuisine. Je recommande.

Not for accurate woodworking
I have recently undertaken major jobs including understairs triangular cupboards, breakfast bar, kitchen units etc, and so I have got to know the tools pretty well. I also invested in expensive blades for fine cutting, Despite much experimentation t, this is simply not up to the job. The problem is the framework is compliant, ( i.e. Bends under pressure) the design faulty in that ( for example) the handle is over the edge , not centre of the rollers on the bed which are also compliant, so running level is a problem. Net result? Even if you set the bevel square, the varying hand pressure results in not only a non square edge, but an edge which varies in bevel along the length. The substructure is simply not man enough. Remove the rollers and the variation reduces but then the tool can snag, it is not a good surface plate. In contrast i have had far better results with a small hand held circ saw with blade half the size which having taken time and trouble to learn how to use it (i.e. Cutting good edge down) has cut perfect edges on furniture panels, laminate and other things which I never expected!. For any accurate purpose the mac is in my view useless. It has a fatal combination... Big and heavy, with too flimsy structure, The scales e g plunge depth are not easy to use, and inaccurate! And setting plunge depth the lever has too little room. The low price is irrelevant if it can't do the job, so I rate it low value as well.

Robust, capable piece of kit
A replacement for one that was stolen, I took advice and checked this out. It's not a brand I knew beforehand, I guess it's B&Q own brand. Used it in the workshop and out on site. Very pleased with it.

Light and powerful
I dont make a lot of demands on a power saw but the little use its had have highlighted very pleasing features. I, light to hold in one hand Ii, rollers under the plate means ease of movement. Iii guard raises itself smoothly when cutting Iiil a lot of power. Nice tool!
