Spider lilies are easy to grow and produce exotic, architectural flowers from late spring to early summer, atop tall sturdy stems. They exude a delightful, sweet fragrance. Its blooms consist of large white, cups surrounded by six long, curled petals that give rise to the common name spider lily.

• Soil moisture: Moist & well drained, Soil pH: Any
• Flowering period: June - August, Planting period: March - May
• Hardiness: H1c - Can be grown outside in the summer (5 - 10°C)
• Plant in a sunny spot. Dig soil improver and bonemeal into the planting hole before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole. For a summer -long display, plant at intervals of 7-10 days. Do not attempt to plant these bulbs if the ground is frozen or during freezing conditions Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. Water well during dry spells.When the foliage has died back, usually after the first frost, cut stems back to 5cm above soil level. Not winter hardy. To over-winter, dig up the corms and store them in a cool, dry and frost-free place. Replant in the same way next year.
