QUALITY!
Like "always go to", I also have been using my 10-179 since at least 1975. Still feels good in my hand, especially with the ribs (really nice with wet rubber gloves or greasy hands). I lube the blade carrier yearly and still works like new. No complaints whatsoever.

Solid, durable blade housing
This is a classic razor blade knife housing but the construction is really solid and it is extremely durable. I use this knife all the time and it has been through a lot of abuse but it has never loosened or even been scratched! It's always easy to unscrew the body in order to change the razor blade and it tightens right back up without any issues. I like using this knife over other razor knives that I own because the body is much more solid than others and I feel like I have increased cutting power because of it. I would definitely get this knife again.

Reliable Old Style Utility Knife
When I was growing up my dad would often ask me to grab his "razor knife" from the tool box. He would always tell me to be careful of the blade because it is razor sharp. This is that same old style utility knife I remember as a kid. It has a heavy and stable feel you want in a good utility knife.

Simple and effective
Cuts thick cardboard and plastic. Does everything a utility knife should.

non retactable
don't like this knife as well as others because the blade does not retract making the safety factor low on the scale

Great knife
This knife is very sturdy, great for drywall. Bade won't pull out. It does take some getting used to, I've always used retractable bladed utility knifes. But this works great, cuts well, stands up to constant drywall scoring.

Strong, sturdy build but slow blade change
This knife has a strong build, allowing me to get ample power behind a cut allowing for a deeper & more precise cut. If you aren't cutting often or are cutting tough material, would recommend. Only negative is the slow blade change, and I may be being petty in listing this as a negative because as long as you have a phillips handy it doesn't take that long. I happen to cut a lot of material and require frequent blade changes so prefer a knife with a quick blade change feature.
