Fist time leveller - 2 years ago
Primed an uneven concrete and quarry tiled floor with PVA (1:4 parts water). Went with the recommendations to mix with 5 litres of water rather than 4. Went down a treat and this morning have a dry and level floor ready to lay vinyl. Very impressed. Mixing without a drill paddle would have been a nightmare given the instruction to mix for 15 minutes. All in all, for a first time use I am very impressed with the product and would recommend.
duse it go out of date

I bought this yesterday..first time ever laying a floor like this..floor was old red quarry tiles that i want to tile over but so much uneveness i had to lay a level base first. 9pm last night i mixed with a paddle on my old drill which was SO much quicker and much more effective..honestly I do not recommend trying to hand ball it. used half a bag with 2.5 litres of water..pouring and then spreading in 2 lots. I think I tried to over level it slightly as this morning when I got up at 7am there were places were it hadn't 'levelled' as well as I'd liked..it wasn't dry either but think that maybe my use of extra water. I just scraped over any areas I thought may cause a slight dome effect whilst laying tiles around various places checking for level. Overall it's done a good job and is a massive improvement on tiles underneath. Only gripe is I'm not sure 'self smoothing' (description on bag) is same as 'self levelling' that other products describe. Maybe I'm wrong? It's probably 75-80% level before my adjustments this morning. Would probably use a different product next time.
Just right for the job

Excellent product. Easy to mix (best to use a plaster whisk) and lay. Finish is tough and even with very few air bubbles. I did, as others have suggested here, add a little more water (about half a litre) than suggested, which helped as it felt a bit thick when first mixed. It did take longer to set/dry than is stated (possibly due to the extra water). It was thoroughly dry the next morning, so no problems. Would definitely use again.

I bought this to level through to the old floor level after the extension.
Firstly mix up with 5 litres not the 4 on the instructions... secondly buy a few extra bags than it says it will cover.. it soon gets used up.. get someone to mix the next bag while your using it.. the more you can keep the flow going the better. I also found a roller handy when feathering from one level to another. It certainly does the job.
