- Instructions for Use - For indoor use only. Do not apply in damp or humid conditions. Apply when the temperature of the surface being painted is above 10°C. New plaster and other bare, absorbent surfaces must be sealed prior to painting. Remove old, loose or flaky paint and repair all damaged areas before painting. The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust and grease. Glossy surfaces should be deglossed before painting. Stir well before use to ensure paint is thoroughly mixed. Apply 1–2 coats using a suitable brush, roller or sprayer. Apply liberally, avoiding excessive rolling or brushing, working from dry areas into the paint’s wet edge giving you a levelled finish. A tintable primer is recommended when making dramatic colour changes to avoid additional coats. Touch dry in about 1 hour. Allow 2-4 hours between coats. When using a sprayer, refer to the sprayer user guide for full instructions before use. You can dilute this paint with water, however, when you dilute the formula you dilute the quality. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the claims we make on pack if the formula is diluted with water.

Excellent Paint
Thick paint that covers really well in only one coat but two are even better. Picked this paint because of the reviews by others and have not been disappointed. Bit pricey at £42 for a 5L tin but as it was on offer at 3 for 2 it was worth it. Very happy with the result.

My New “Go To” White
Never been a big fan of B&Q and I normally go to Crown for most of my jobs, but their quality has been going downhill recently so I’ve been shopping around for a new go to white. I’ve been hearing more and more about Valspar and spoke with a couple of guys at a trade event that have had the same issues as me with crown, and they’ve started using Valspar trade products. This stuff is flipping amazing! Went through my handheld sprayer without watering down and the coverage I got with one coat was brill! Will be trying the tinted stuff soon. Great paint!

What happened
I used valspar 5 years ago and it was brilliant so really didn't expect this disappointment now. The paint is full of clots, very hard to mix and apply, like jelly....probably cos of bad storage. Considering recent reviews valspar must released a faulty batch on the market. Check before buying!

Would not recomment
Avoid at all cost. After 5 coats and 7.5 litres the finish is still patchy. Bought for top half of a small dining room (above panelling) a light cream over white walls. I have used other ranges of Valspar in the past with no problems, but this is absolutely awful. No idea how durable it is as only done 2 days ago.

Very good paint ...
... was easy to apply with a roller with little or no drips so no mess and surprised how good the coverage was even with a single coat over existing vinyl silk paint. It is expensive but well worth it.

Don’t buy rubbish paint- not stain resistant.
I bought valosar trade tough Matt paint as claims to be hard wearing , durable & scrubable. I’ve only had walls painted 3 weeks and already theres a scuff mark and water stains on wall that won’t come off and are visible. It’s Not a cheap paint and not worth buying as it dies not do as it says on the tin stay away from this paint.

Try some other brand
I have been painting on and off for over 10 years now and this has to be the worst, bought four 10 litre containers, all four had a skin on them even after been shaken by B&Q, one of the containers was mixed incorrectly so that set me back having to sort that out and apparently it’s washable…. Spent 70hrs painting a complex job and only to find out if you scrub it, then it’s not that durable

Whitest white emulsion!
Iam a professional decorator and was recommended to use valspar tough Matt white, it really is the whitest white emulsion I've ever used ! But, to get a smooth finish, it really needs water added to make it dry to a smooth finish. Great product and equally as good as Dulux diamond Matt which is considerably more !

Amazing!
I think we have probably tried every type of paint over the years, usually needing 2/3 coats I asked for advice in B&q for best coverage white paint and a very helpful lady recommended this one We had a new plaster ceiling to paint (after applying watered down first coat), and this literally covered in one coat! Couldn’t be happier and the job was done in no time Honestly would not bother with any other now, worth the extra cost for all the work it saves. A brilliant product
