Long lasting
My previous window of the same model lasted 30+ years under California sun & winter. Amazing quality! Quality is so rare and lacking nowaday. So glad Velux is keeping the good tradition.

Dependable and terrifically engineered
We have just installed two Center Pivot Roof windows to replace the same which we installed in our house 33 years ago. The original windows had never leaked or failed to operate properly. Replacement was necessary only because, understandably, after all these year and a harsh southern exposure, the glass fogged between the double glazing. It was very satisfying to see not only that the exact replacement was still available, but also to find that the design and engineering, if anything, have been improved. Replacement was a breeze and we look forward to another 30 years or better of satisfactory service.

Excellent quality and stylish appearance
I bought 4 roof windows for two areas of our home. The quality of the windows is outstanding, closing and tight and sealing properly. The styling of window, blind and hardware is upscale and to the appearance of the rooms.

Going strong after 30 years
I put two of these in a gable type bedroom over 30 years ago. Performance is top notch, no leaks. A great product!

Its a quality built in to the product every time
I have been a carpenter for over 40 years. I have installed many competitors products that can't come close to what velux has achieved. The roof window, no matter what model, is a win win. They take the guess work out of flashing and make it simple. The unit comes with a pre-bent flashing kit that goes together like a simple puzzle. That makes your install that much more enjoyable. The only down side is that their product is not protected well, especially during shipping. The face of the unit only has two strips of foam, at the top & bottom. They should have a full piece of foam to cover the entire face of the unit because that's the most vulnerable. All aside you will be very pleased with your purchase.

Seems very well made!
Seems very well made and stylish... knocked off one start, as it is heavy to close and also wished there was an option to keep the window partially opened instead of just having a small air gap. On the other hand, it's an egress skylight, so maybe that's why it's made that way.

Not sure what Mary Jane was expecting from Velux. Roofs are hot, direct sun is hot. Her dealer should have told her, in my opinion. Velux can't control where a window is installed. I have two GGL-1 skylites from 1984 and still love them.
