this compost is rubbish
I lost 95% of my bedding plugs plants which where in excellent condition when I bought them nearly £ 70 pounds worth

cheap and cheerful
I think B&Q may have had problems with this product but it seems like they have rectified this problem. i have bought 4 bags and am happy with the quality for how cheap this product is. i will be buying more. Ignore the bad reviews

Good vallue
I have now bought 6 bags of this compost over the spring and summer and do not agree with the bad reviews. Yes, it is course and probably unsuitable for seeds - but it is ideal for tubs, baskets and for mulching around existing plants. Unlike other reviewers, I have never found any stones or large twigs in it. My fushias, petunias, zinnias and lobelia have done exceptionally well in my tubs this summer and I have only given them extra feed twice over 4 months. It is good to find a peat-free compost at a reasonable price.

Truly awful
As others have said this is not fit for purpose. B&Q please remove this from your shelves. Nothing more than a coarse wood mulch; full of stones, twigs and plastic. Completely unsuitable as compost.

Can I get a refund?
Worried that the tomatoes and other greenhouse plants I have potted in this r*bb*sh will not produce any good results - this could be a wasted year!

Mouldy
When I opened the bag I could see white mould all over the compost. Like all the other reviewers I found it to be of very inferior quality full of big chunks of bits and pieces, ended up using it up as mulch on maturer plants rather than the seedlings I was hoping to raise. The B&Q buyer isn’t obviously a gardener.

Terrible. Not fit for purpose.
As other reviewers have commented, very coarse and full of twigs and even stones! Stupidly went ahead and potted up tomato seedlings , loads have died and rest are struggling. Mushrooms are popping up well so product is not even sterilised. I'd push for a refund but it would get knocked back cause it's been opened. Waste of money.

so coarse i'm setting a lot aside as kindling
well done b and q for trying, and having the peat-free prominent and cheap. BUT it so coarse i'm setting a lot aside as kindling. really: some bits of pallet, and lots of sticks. take them out and the rest is still too coarse for anything except as fill in deep pots do your buyers not even look at quality? next year please simply put through a sieve and grinder and get the miracle grow equivalent, which i am liking! btw is about 60 litres solid

Can't believe they are selling this!
I've bought peat-free compost from B&Q for a number of years now and this is the worst ever. My bag contained branches (twigs is too small a term for them) and stones up to 9cm in length - hardly the nourishment my potted plants were looking for. I foolishly didn't read the latest reviews before buying - let's hope the buyer for B&Q, who ordered this rubbish from the supplier, actually gets to see them, eh?

verve compost ?
I bought a bag of this rubbish it looks more like wood chipings than compost not fit for use wil have to dump it at the tip.
