Please do not buy this product

I had two bags of this compost. It is more like wooden bits mixed with mushroom compost. It turns some plants yellow and doesn't let seedlings grow very well. I got my money refunded when I went back with photos of plants grown in this compost .

Pointless

Previous years was an okay product current batch appears to be recycled waste cardboard, plastic etc.. has the same texture as cork. Would be better used as a weedkiller.

Smells of sewage

I bought a bag of Verve Peat Free Multi-purpose Compost, and it has a sickening smell. Had to give it one star because I cant submit with no star

Don't buy

I purchased half a dozen bags of this "Compost" to use for a new rockery mixed with topsoil. It was absolute rubbish, and I do mean rubbish..I had to sieve every single bag...there was old flex, lumps of wood, stones, and I even found old rusty iron.Do not under any circumstances buy this product because you will just be very disappointed like I was.As for the Good "Reviews" all I can think is that whomever they are they must be very easily pleased.I would say that this product should be classed as a soil improver,NOT as a COMPOST.Disgraceful...

A good product

I have been buying this product for many years as I don't want the environmental damage caused by peat extraction. The formulation has changed slightly over time but the current version is the best yet. Passed through a sieve and with a little perlite added it makes excellent seed compost. Straight from the bag (with any lumps broken up), I use it for tomatoes amd dahlias with excellent results. (Both need additional feed through the year as they are very hungry). I would recommend this. A good product at a very good price.

Peat free multi-purpose compost

First time I've bought the peat free multi-purpose compost would not buy this product again, I find it almost impossible to use, being very 'sticky' and difficult to get out of the bag, and very lumpy no good for seeds. Much prefer the ordinary multi-compost. Unfortunately bought 3 so still got 2 more bales to get through.

Good value good quality now.

I bought several packs of this last year to improve my sandy soil. I have been very pleased with it. I do know this product had some very poor reviews a few yrs ago but it would be worth looking at again. Just adding this to my soil has improved the texture and water retention. I will be buying more if this quality continues.

This product is very coarse and dries out very quickly. I have used it for potting on

We shouldnt be using peat based products

Good value large sacks of peat free compost. It seems to work well and is not too coarse.
