this stuff is great for loosening up clay soil , people complain about smell but i didnt think it was that bad and its meant to smell as its rotting organic matter, the bag seemed small but once opened you see its much denser than normal composts and very moist where it retains the water better, a little bag goes a long way, i will definitely buy again
Good but smells quite bad

Mixes well with clay soil to give more volume and depth
Quite pungent and takes so,e getting used to but is clearly a rich organic product . Hopefully will add good nutrients to the soil
Never mind the width feel the quality

Just bought 10 bags each one marked "50L When Filled". I stacked my ten bags and measured the volume that these took in total. With a reasonable allowance for the uneven shapes the best I could get for 10 bags was 280L, not 500L. By the label, my 10 bags should be the equivalent of a 1000L dumpy bag sized 1m x 1m x 1m. Have not spread it yet so can't comment on quality (hence only three stars) but quantity is certainly lacking (valu for money two stars).
Does what it says it will do

I have brought 20 bags over the past month and the standard and condition of each has been consistent and good quality. I would recommend.
A reasonably priced material to bulk out clay soil
Garden Mum - 1 year ago
I have been buying many, many bags of this Verve Soil Improver for a couple of years. We have heavy clay in our garden it is wet and flooded in Winter and like concrete in Summer. This material along with Verve general garden compost and bags of horticultural grit seem to have tamed the clay and helped the clay to break up into a much better garden soil. This year at last the level of soil in the borders is over 15cm higher so less likely to flood in the Winter months. I'm delighted with the Soil Improver. It is a reasonably priced material to bulk out clay soil along with other garden compost and grit.
