Easy Installation
The switch only took a few minutes to fit and this is a very easy way of converting a single socket to a double without any disturbance to wall plaster or paintwork./wall paper. There was plenty of room for the double set of wires to fit into position. The holding down screws were long enough to do the job as well.

Great Plug 4 a Plug Socket
I normally get my trusty old club hammer & bolster chisel and rap my knuckles chasing out twin pattress when I double up my sockets. But thought this time I would try these 'converters'. Well I bought 4 and have to say how pleased I am that I did. Worked so easily on 3 of them as they were all on the 'ring' with just 2 wires to fit into each of the 3 terminals. The last one still on the ring also had a spur off and this was nigh on impossible to fit as the cable terminals were a tad too small and physically could not take 3 wires into the L,N & Earth, so I had to be a tad inventive here to get around this problem. If the terminals themselves were a little larger then it would have been great to have given these 5*, as it is I give them 4*. As for their looks, they are ok too and you certainly dont notice that they are a little deeper than traditional flush sockets. All-in-all, these sockets will save you loads of time and work and well worth using if they are not used in a highly visual location, such on Kitchen splashbacks.

Just the job !!
I have used this type of socket converter before, but not Volex. Volex is slightly dearer but just as good. I did not have any problems with 'escaping' terminal screws, but did find that I needed lots of patience when fitting the socket body to the back box. I had plenty of light on the subject to see exactly what I was doing. Eventually, with patience and nimble fingers, I successfully fitted the body to the box. It's worth noting that older boxes have imperial screw threads (2BA), while newer items have metric threads (M3.5). So use your existing fixing screws if your system is older, as the screws are not interchangeable.

Very Poor Design
I got the product home, was preparing to install by loosening the screws that are meant to hold the cables in place. One screw came out (no detent like in most fixtures of this type) and entered the guts of the item! Screw would not come out so disassembled - bad move - all of the innerds (springs, bits of metal, contacts, etc.) came flying out! Total waste of money! End result, put it all in a bag for a day when I want to achieve the mother of all headaches trying to figure out how all of the pieces fit together! Not a good idea for a purchase!!

Convert a single gang socket to a 2 gang.
You get what you pay for. I bought cheap previously but it didn't last. Quality will out.

Flaw in design
Eseentially a good product, but has a design flaw. If a cable retaining screw is unwound too far it can fall into the 'guts' of the product . Retrieval is virtually impossible. Removing the four screws which hold the assembly together is not recommended as it is almost impossible to re-assemble owing to the large number of unrestrained piece parts.
