Product information
Gro-Sure Seed & Cutting Compost is a unique compost that has been specifically developed to ensure perfect growing conditions for seed germination as well as seedling and cutting establishment. The formula contains a fine grade Vermiculite, a naturally occurring substance that aids in drainage and aeration as well as plant extracts that stimulate young seeds and cuttings to produce strong, healthy seedlings and growth.
- Ideal for cultivating seeds & cuttings.
- Composition - 80% peat
- Place compost in a tray or pot and fill to just below the rim. Tap down the compost with a board or level tool to give a flat even surface. Water the compost thoroughly and allow to drain. Sow the seeds evenly over the whole surface. Cover seeds evenly with a thin layer of compost and water using a watering can with a fine rose. Ensure that the compost is kept moist by covering the seeds with a thin layer of polythene or a sheet of glass until the seeds have germinated. Keep seeds out of direct sunlight. One bag fills approximately 14x 10cm pots

Awful seed compost
Full of hard lumps and pieces of bark. Had to sieve before using. Will not buy again

contains peat
Please consider a B&Q peat-free alternative to this product. Our UK peatlands are vital for carbon capture and act as our very own rainforest, as well as a haven for wildlife. Thank you

Almost entirely peat
I’m suprised that it is being marketed as ‘superfine’ given that it is composed almost entirely of peat which is a chunky and lumpy consistency (aside from the fact that it is terrible for the environment and we really should avoid using it).

Dreadful Quality
Super Fine??? You're having a laugh!!! I went to plant some early seeds, reached into the bag for a handful of super fine compost, only to come out with a handful of lumps, pieces of bark, and fairly ordinary compost. I had to seive it before I could use it otherwise my tiny seedlings wouldn't have had a chance with those lumps on their heads. Very, very disappointed, and not looking forward to having to seive the remaining 29.5 litres I bought.
