Overall ok after initial problems.
Bought this product to replace a similar item which was looking a bit tired. Initially kept flashing but was ok once the starter that came with it was replaced with a branded starter from a local store. May not seem a big deal but frustrating. When I buy something new I expect it to work.

6' Fluorescent
Lightly constructed fitting (a bit on the 'tinny' side) had sustained some damage before painting. the original starter was faulty. Not up to B & Q's usual standard. I'll hang onto the receipt

An item not fit for purpose
Just after we had returned one light as it was bashed in, but not apparently so till we unpacked it, got a second - it was not possible to use the light with the diffuser as it obviously had a faulty connection and when the diffuser was connected the light did not work! However, as the light came on and taking it back would have necessitated dismantling, packing and returning it we let it go and used it without. However, a week before Christmas the light ceased to work at all and we have had to get another which is excellent. However it is not the same size and the kitchen ceiling will have to be repainted. I have since read the unfavourable comments posted by other purchasers in respect of this item. It is a badly constructed item, flimsy and not fit for purpose. Also, the service at B&Q when we returned the first light was off hand and casual and I will not be so accepting when I return the second useless item after Christmas. I have rated the item with one star as it is not possible to rate it lower.

Very poor unit
I brought this unit to replace the light in my garage last November and it is constantly flashing on and off, replaced the tube and starter and it is still doing it. Total rubbish and I have also lost the receipt. Now trying to find a decent unit, that old adage of buy cheap buy twice was never so true.

Very bad light
Used in attic, sometimes does not light from cold and some times flashes on and off, very unreliable and finicky.

Poor quality
I bought 2 of these for a shed and both had starter problems within 1 month. The shed is very well sealed and dry so nothing to do with dampness etc. Flickering so bad I have to remove the starters once on as it is very annoying.

Poor quality
Pretty old fashioned tech here. Has a bit of a 60hz flicker any way, especially when starting from cold. Ours is ~ 5 months old and the flicker is getting worse and it isn't always starting. Off to look for a modern equivilet.

Poor Product Life
I purchased one of these about one year ago but unfortunately failed to keep a receipt. It was electronic without a starter and it failed so I have had to purchase a new one. This time I made sure I chose one with the old type starter. Again I foolishly did not keep a receipt...and it was fine for a month but now keeps flash, flash, flash, flashing. I sure hope it is just the starter requires changing. It looks great, but I question the reliability. Two bad ones in a row!
