It's a flexible connector :)
I needed this to couple a sink waste U trap to an existing waste pipe T, which had been bodged and leaked because they didn't line up. The connector worked fine. It's a bit stiffer than I it might have been, and I had to force it quite forcefully to bend they way I wanted.
