Piston ring compressors
Piston ring compressors are tools used in mechanics to install pistons into engine cylinders. They are cylindrical in shape, and have a spring-loaded plunger at one end that holds the piston rings in place while the piston is inserted into the cylinder. The compressor is placed over the piston and pressed down, compressing the rings to a small enough size to fit into the cylinder. Once the piston is in place, the compressor is removed and the rings expand to their normal size.
